Bold pre-season reveal: Warrington Wolves will again host Leigh Leopards for a second tune-up match before the new season, keeping this friendly tradition alive.
Warrington confirmed the fourth consecutive arrangement with Leigh Leopards visiting The Halliwell Jones Stadium for a pre-season clash that doubles as both teams’ final hit-out before competitive action begins. The fixture is set for Friday, January 30, with a 7:30pm kickoff.
Ticket details are live now: adults from £20, concessions £15, juniors £5, and under-12s free when accompanied by a paying adult. 2026 season members will enjoy discounted pricing.
Leigh has won each of the last two January meetings, while Warrington’s previous January win came in 2023 in a game memorable for Josh McGuire’s early-innings red card that marked the start of a controversial spell with the club.
In addition to the Leigh clash, Warrington had already announced a home friendly against Widnes Vikings on Friday, January 9. Leigh, however, does not have any other confirmed pre-season fixtures.
Both clubs will enter the Challenge Cup at the third-round stage the weekend after their pre-season clash, with the Super League season kicking off the following week.
Looking ahead, these neighbors will cross paths at least four times in 2026: Leigh returns to The Halliwell Jones Stadium in Round Seven on April 4, Warrington visits Leigh Sports Village for Round 20 on July 25, and the pair will meet again at Magic Weekend on Saturday, July 4.
